Visit Pals Old Town

About 25 minutes by car from Llafranc, you can explore the Gothic neighborhood of the medieval town of Pals. The area is exceptionally beautiful, with most of the streets retaining their original cobblestone character, and nearly all of them are reserved for pedestrians.

Pals also boasts its beach area, akin to another independent village. The beach is notably scenic, differing from other Costa Brava beaches in its wider expanse and dunes. Situated in front of the Medes Islands (a protected area) and near the mouth of the Ter River, the beach offers access to numerous hiking trails.

Interestingly, the historic antennas of Radio Liberty were once located on Pals Beach. Radio Liberty, funded by the CIA, served as a radio station broadcasting anti-communist propaganda to Russia. In 2006, these antennas were finally dismantled.
