Palafrugell has traditionally been a town closely linked to the cork industry, and it still is.
And it is in Palafrugell where we find a museum dedicated to cork (cork, in Catalan: suro): The Museo del Suro de Catalunya.
It’s a tiny museum, free, and very interesting to visit. It is highly visual, not only because of the cork pieces that are on display, but also due to the explanation of its extraction and uses, along with images and short explanatory videos. It’s an engaging experience for both adults and young people.
